Truffle Fries are loaded with Mediterranean flavors to make a simple, yet fancy side dish.

Garlic fries with tzatziki sauce are one of my favorite combos. On the rare occasion I get my hands on a good gyro pita, it’s hard to stop dipping the fries in the sauce. The creamy garlicky sauce is just so good.
Thanks to Alexia Foods, I was able to try their two new side dishes made with organic potatoes: Organic Savory Spice Sweet Potato Fries and Alexia Truffle Fries. Just like the other Alexia products, both new fries are made with ingredients harvested at their peak, then seasoned creatively with all-natural flavors.
Just like all the Alexia products I’ve tried, these two new ones are fabulous. They are both found exclusively at Whole Foods, but if you can’t find them, this topping would work great on any of their frozen fries or potatoes.
The Non-GMO Verified, Organic Savory Spice Sweet Potato fries are made with a delicious blend of organic ginger, cumin, cinnamon and other spices. They bring the tantalizing flavors of Morocco from farm to table.
Just the sweet potato fries alone have ~130 calories per serving, less than 20 grams of carbs, 5 grams of fat, 3 grams of fiber and other nutrients like potassium. French fries don’t have to be a cheat meal! These are delicious, packed with Moroccan spices.
The Truffle Fries make a simple, yet fancy side that you might find in fine dining restaurants. The black summer truffles are foraged from the slopes of northern Italy adorned with Mediterranean sea salt. How fancy, right?
They are a little higher in fat and calories than the sweet potatoes, 160 calories per serving, 8 grams of fat and also 20 grams of carbs.
They really are fabulous as is and make a great side, but I thought it would be fun to experiment with a topping that will make a hearty side dish for any meal.
Tomato, onion, zucchini, feta, olives, garlic and fresh parsley topped with homemade tzatziki sauce. This topping goes amazingly well on either potato- yes, I tried. I decided a vegetarian side like these Loaded Mediterranean Fries would pair nicely with a lamb chop, steak or just a vegetarian entrée like a big salad.
You can make the tzatziki sauce in advance and make sure to have an extra toothbrush on hand for your guests. Garlic is a must in this dish!
My husband loved this creation and we both enjoyed the leftovers cold the next day!
